Thread: Do you pay for traffic monitoring tool?

There are many traffic monitoring tool like Google analytics, Statcounter etc. While some of these tools are free to use, there are some tool which is not free, do you use those? Can we get any special features by paying?

No, you don't need to pay for them, unless your site is earning that much, by 'that much' i mean that once you cross basics you will need to think about more additional points which can be only understand if you buy those features, statcounter offers too.

Personally, I wouldn't pay for a service like this when I could just use (for example) Google Webmaster tools, which will do the job perfectly fine.

Statcounter has limited features with the free option. When you buy a package from statcounter you get special benefits like you can monitor more keywords.

I'm using Histats for a standart blog or small site. With big sites I'll use Google Analystic

For small site, I will use building server tracking awstats. For medium and large site, I prefer Google analytics as it is more accurate.

I stick with free tools. I don't know what I would even pay for at this point. There were some features I considered paying for in the past with other services, but now Google has all those included for free (like real-time data).

Why pay for it if you can get it free?
