Does posting on forum gives you money?

I have been member on many forum and many people are contributing the forum by their valuable post and making the forum better!

But from this forum owner earns a lot , what about their members?

I have a Idea to pay 75% of the ad revenue to the best poster of the forum and 25% for running forum.

And the member will rewarded with cash every week and every month to make the forum better.

So that the forum grows with good members. What you guys think about this idea?

I am implementing this on my forum, those who really supports are welcome!

Honestly, I was on a forum once that had tons of traffic (thousands of users, dozens of new threads daily, etc), and he had revenue sharing on. He ended up turning it off eventually because forum users just don't tend to click ads very often. Not only was he not really making any money off of it, but the forum users who had signed up for the revenue split, weren't really seeing any profits either.

If you're making a lot of money through ads on a forum, then awesome...that's great for you! But I have to wonder just how much 75% would actually get a person.

I didn't tell you what forum I was talking about, so how do you know? lol I don't think we're quite on the same page here or I didn't understand what you were trying to say.

It is easy to judge from the words you said. I replied based on your reply.

Personally, I don't think the 'best poster' or any poster should be paid for posts. When we join a forum, we do it because we want to be a member, because we want to hang out on that forum (unless you're that type of person who joins purely to advertise). I would never let anyone pay me to post, no matter how much they offered.

There are, however, forums that will give you forum cash for each post you make. Forum cash could be used to buy a new name, custom title, or some other benefit the forum shop has.

I don't think this would work because most forums don't have a sign-up fee. Websites aren't free to run, especially large, data hogs like forums with hundreds of thousands of users. Those are the forums that generate most of the revenue which is used to support the website and any projects to enhance it for the members.

Personally, why would anyone spend the time to build a community and send all their hard earned money to someone who posts a lot? The benefit to the user community is the quantity of members the forum is providing as an audience to either ask questions too or answer questions for. Why would the "volunteer" moderators work for free? Then the forum loses its integrity and the forum stops generating cash.
