As the title says, I am looking to find a VPS hosting provider that is reasonably affordable and offers some reasonable packages. My current hosting provider is very good but the main problem is the amount of memory available to applications. Their programs tie bandwidth and memory together in tiers meaning that I would be buying a much higher end package only because I want more memory. I would ideally like 512Mb because my web server and database together eat up the 256M that I currently have even with optimizations for memory constrained systems.
I have looked at different VPS hosting providers but the reviews are all faked so I am not really learning any more from what I have found so far.
Any information would be appreciated.
Disk space, bandwidth? Control panel?
What is your budget? Any specific technology OpenV,Xen! You may want to look at providers that offer custom packages. Obviously if you just need a memory upgrade and don't need the bandwidth it does not make since to pay for something you don't need. The problem what I see with just about every VPS provider you will find good stories about them and some bad. You just need to take a leap of faith sometimes also going with a provider that has more good than bad is probably a good idea. Good luck in your search.

check out Unmetered VPS | Fanatical VPS it's a linux-based VPS.....only thing is you'll have to install Mysql and such yourself. Still, they give you quite a lot of BW and memory. I run my game server from there![]()
Recomend you for 123Systems, they offer very nice and cheap plan.

Thanks for the responses. I will check out these different services.
To response to questions, I don't have any requirements for a control panel as I manage everything from the command line and install everything myself. I just need a linux-based virtual server that I can install and upgrade an image upon. The underlying virtualization technology is not important as I have no need of special drivers or anI also don't have large disk or bandwidth requirements so far.
Well no one can accuse you of being picky so it would seem your main objective is just price then! You may want to look at an OpenVZ provider as you will find the prices for OpevVZ allot more manageable on a small budget.

I like services provided by redswitches.com. They are cheap and reliable host with stable plans.
Do not hesitate and contact them directly for more information.
choose a VPS provider who's datacenter is geographically close to your target audience. Also a host that is fairly close to you, since you'll be the one accessing the VPS the most.
