Thread: Are cheap web hosting companies any good?

While a reputable hosting company can take $10 or more monthly, I have noticed some website even providing web hosting at as low as $1/month. Do you think they are reliable? And also quality wise is that decent enough?

Well while choosing web hosting services make sure you consider other factors as well. Mostly people select the web hosting company by analyzing just cost difference, however, what should be more important for your business is the stability of services, availability of support, fair price and the professionalism of web host's team.

$10 a month from say, Host Gator, is cheap enough.

Well this is a very general question Some cheap hosts are good but quite a lot of them are dodgy, just stick with a well known company and you'll be fine

Pricing is fairly important. $1-2 a month for shared hosting isn't uncommon these days. I say you have to try out the host to see if the extra $8 premium is worth it to you. I paid $2 per month for shared hosting when I first started out and it was just fine in terms of reliability.

The less funding a hosting company has, then the less chance it has to actually make it.
