
I'd suggest changing this ruleA quick look at the Site Promotion forum there are a lot of threads where the only person posting is the original poster just bumping the thread. In my opinion if your site is that good then people will visit and respond. Maybe change the rule to only allow three bumps after which you are no longer allowed to post in the thread until either someone else has posted, you are posting to say you have closed the site/changed URLs or you have completely overhauled the site.We may allow bumping posts but you may not do this instantly, please wait a reasonable amount of time. For updating the status of your sales thread as such we will a bump after 48hours.
There are several cases where someone likes the forum and registers, but never posts in the ad thread where they found it.
I think the rules are fine as is. It gives a fair chance to everyone to advertise daily, and make sure their advertisement gets read.

I agree, barely anybody posts on those threads and if we implement a rule like that then we will probably end up with loads of duplicate threads
But are posts just saying they've posted a new story or how many members they now have actually useful content for this forum?
