    This is probably your best bet actually ^ It'll keep signatures more 'unified' looking too.

    There is another issue that might be addressed under signature rules. People who have an image in their signature which has a large file size. I personally think animated gifs are the scourge of the internet and have seen some on Google+ that have actually been 10megs in size. Whilst this is not an issue for those of us on a decent broadband not everybody is.
