Thread: Major Updates to WBB!

Hello WBB,

As some of you may have noticed I have been doing some major updates over the last 4-5 hours. I have carefully planned this out to one huge update which has now taken place!

Here are the updates that have been made:

1. I have changed the form of how the URL's are displayed in the forums. It is now much cleaner and will only display webmasterbb.net/forum-name/post instead of having the forum section in the URL also.
2. "Top Thread" has been removed from the right sidebar as it really was not of that much use and was just extra clutter to the site.
3. I have updated the avatars to now be 100 x 100.
4. You are now able to create groups! I think this is one of the cooler updates in my personal opinion. I just created my own group so join it if you wish.
5. The guidelines button in the top navigation bar was not working properly so got that fixed up.
6. I have updated the forum icons that are displayed on the homepage to blue web 2.0 icons.
7. I noticed there were a ton of different greetings on the homepage before you logged in so I decided to remove all those.
8. Tag cloud has been removed from the right sidebar also as that did not really have that much use.
9. The welcome message that is displayed at the top when you login has been modified a tad as well.
10. Instead of Super Moderator it is now called Global Moderator
11. One of the major ones, I merged a lot of the forums together and created a few different categories and put a few sections in each to split it up between Marketing, Webmaster and Development. This will make the forum stay more organized.
12. I then after doing number 11 updated all the descriptions for each forum.
13. New logo that is now displayed in the top left of the forum home.
14. Directory has been re-enabled at: http://directory.webmasterbb.net/

It has been a hard night but I hope all these updates are worth it! Please let me know what you think!

I think these are great improvements. There seemed to be some overlap and a couple forums that weren't being used as much, so cleaning it up and adding better descriptions looks really good.

I have to say really and I do mean REALLY good job there. Btw does doing this

Yes it does. It improves the SEO and also does make the link a lot shorter which is good as well.
