On some forums, the admins will call moderators volunteer moderators instead of just mods, my guess is so members know moderators aren't paid staff.
Which do you prefer, and/or find better? Moderator, or volunteer moderator?
Personally, it doesn't matter to me. I think they both sound pretty good.

I think moderator sounds fine... Most of the time, at least from the forums I've been a member of, staff aren't paid and most of the people know that.
Since I do not really know many forums that pay there staff I find that just Moderator is fine. See no need for a 'volunteer mod' when most of the time they only get paid in forum posts anyway.

At Vietnam we seperate 2 moderator's group: Real Moderator (with full moderator right) and Trial Moderator (which has limited time for testing before upgrading to Real Moderator). We don't have "Paid Moderator".![]()

Moderator is fine. It seems to be standard that you DON'T get paid to moderate forums..I've yet to come across a forum that pays staff.
