Thread: Admins?

So, is there a certain limit on what an admin should change about his/her account? I personally see a good bit of administrators changing their name almost weekly, and then going around and completely changing their avatar and signature almost weekly as well. What's your opinion on that?

I use to change my name a lot, and it annoyed everyone (even on messenger). I think it's unprofessional for an admin to constantly change their name, as it would confuse the hell out of members. As most here noticed, I change my avatar a lot. That isn't a big deal, in my opinion. As long as you keep the same name, an admin should be fine.

Weekly? No, no way! That'd be too confusing. I've kept my name for months already, only changed it once. I did change my ad and sig almost monthly, but that didn't cause any confusion at all.

* I hate it when people keep on changing username colors. Ah!

Its more professional for administrators to make minimal changes to their accounts, None at all is much better.

It's okay to change avatars occasionally, but if you really want people to know who you are and recognize your posts around the board, then you shouldn't do it too frequently. Better yet, if you really can't resist, then just pick something similar. So maybe you love cats and you can always make your display picture a cat of some sort, even if you change it regularly.

I don't perceive this as an issue on most forums. Consistency is important for branding yourself, but the real value on forums is what you add to the community.

I have never changed my name once yet and I have maybe changed my avatar once. Not really an issue for the avatar or name changing. But it can start being a problem in an active forum when there are 2 or 3 admins that keep changing their names every day/week.

I don't change my username often at all......hardly ever actually.....as for the avatar, I don't think the avatar matters. The username is what's most important.

Changing basic things such as Avatar, Signature, etc is fine, no problem with that. It's when username changes and username colour changes happen that I get a little frustrated.
