    Firing Staff?

How do you go about firing staff on your forum? What constitutes you to fire a staff member?
Personally, I send them a PM outlining their removal, and then I remove them. I usually have to fire staff due to inactivity, or behavior.

Same reasons as you really, not being active enough or having the wrong behaviour or approach towards the job.

I find that's what usually happens; people think they have the time to handle the position, but then they just can't. Heck, I've done that before(unfortunately).

Inactivity, lack of support towards the forum. That makes me fire the staff.

Inactivity, hardly any contribution towards the forums, and the usual, really. But, unless they have things to do, I allow them.

I'll PM them first before removing them and ask them about what's going on and if they can do better. If they can, great. If not, I'll demote them and move on. No need to make a big deal about it.

I've never had to fire a staff member, but if I had to, I'd contact them somewhere (either forum, messenger, etc), and just explain the situation, and that I have to let them go.

Wait, you allow them to be inactive as long as they can make up an excuse?

If it's about inactivity, then I make sure to PM them first. If they don't reply, then I go ahead and demote them.

If it's something else, like breaking staff rules constantly, being rude to members, etc., I take their rank away instantly.

Same, I got promoted on a new forum once to Staff, and never visited it again since I thought it would fail.
