Thread: Meme smilies on Facebook Chat

How many of you have seen the so called 'especial smileys for Facebook' pages that turned out to be scam? I'm guessing all of you who use Facebook daily. Just thought it'd be worth mentioning this method uses no external software, pages, extensions, etc. It's just a new feature Facebook developed.

I'll explain how it works. Each Facebook Page (your profile too) has a unique ID that can be found in URLs. These are very easy to find so I'll not explain how that works, you can do that on your own. Turns out Facebook developed a way to embed Pages' profile pictures in messages and chat. How?

When you replace 'ID' for a page's ID (a bunch of numbers) you'll be embedding their profile picture into a tiny smiley. That means you can create your own Facebook smilies if you create your own pages. Super easy!

Since Facebook has official pages for most memes (Okay guy, Y U NO guy, etc.) I thought you'd be interested in them. Here are a few you can try out:

Those are just some examples. They may be too little, so someone took the time to make little pictures for each one so you can get a bigger outcome.

As you just said yourself so small they are pointless and they only work on the website when most people now use other methods for checking/chatting on Facebook so just see the code.

Read the whole post. I mentioned how you can also create bigger smileys from using several images, each for every part of the fullsize image.

It does work on Facebook Messenger for Android and last I heard it worked on Facebook Mobile too. Where is it not compatible?

Never heard of those except for RockMelt and Skype. Anyway, this is intended for website chat. Don't use them on your software if you don't want to, simple as that.

What I am saying is you don't know if the person you are talking to is using the website or using a client.

This is something new! I have never used these smileys but am actually amazed at how people even think about ideas like these .. ! Agreed its not good but to conceive something of that nature is kind of difficult.. Don't you guys think?
