    SnatchCode for backing up?

    https://www.snatchcode.com/index.php

I was just reading a review of Snatchcode here: SnatchCode Helps You Backup Your Website and Databases with One Click

It sounds really cool and convenient, but I prefer to get multiple opinions before I try something like this. Has anybody here used it before?

If you don't, what do you currently use to backup your site?

I had a look at it and I don't know if I would trust something so integrated in nature to protect my data. The problem with backing up is that you really can't do a good job of testing successful restoration without having a spare machine to test with. That is what makes me nervous.

I personally prefer to do my database backups directly as well as my server OS backups. I then save a copy on my local PC. I can look at it and see that it is complete and feel some level of comfort. I have multiple copies that I could potentially use to restore if a problem occurred. I also use the backup services of my hosting provider but I don't trust those directly either.

I think keeping as many copies as possible is the best thing you can do.
