What contests have you held/are currently holding for your site? Posting ones? Referral ones? What's worked the best for you?

The only contest I've had on my forum was a referral contest, but it was a failed attempt. .-.

We've had one where the winner got $80 but that's our first major one. We also have a weekly quiz where a winner gets a dollar real cash, and advertisement placements.

I have done a few posting contests on my forums in the past. They can work quite well, if the money payment is high enough.

I have done both posting and referral, they both didn't work out as well as I was hoping however it's worth trying

Have not done any forum contests of our own, but we have and do give out hosting coupons for free hosting to forums and sites who wish to reward their users for winning said contest.

Could be a great way to animate my community. To be honest I really have no idea of contest topics for the moment. But I'd like to build up a creative contest rather than a quizz or something like that, what do you think ?

None at the moment. But i love participating in contests and whatnot. Like I can win a prize and whatnot.
