Thread: Why is .com domains better?

I was just wondering why is .com domains better than .info domains?

I don't think it's necessarily better, it's just more well known.

In search engine, there are no different because SE rank those site through keywords. .com is high demand because it is one of the old extension and all user get to know it.

Some user not even know what is .org, .net. It will be weird, if someone email is like jimmy@company.info, some user will think this could be a spam mail.

I think its the most common extension and therefore people default to it. Therefore, if someone remembers (we will use this as an example) the name YIPFolio they'll tend to go to Yipfolio.com before going to whatever the actual extension is. People are creatures of habit. When 100 million domains end in .com you have a propensity to use .com for everything.

.com's are usually representative of commercial web sites and it is just a trend that caught and is still present today. Everyone who wants to go to a URL address is always going to try a .com first so that is why it is better in terms of allowing people to memorize the URL easier.

In term of SEO, all the extension is same, mean extension doesnt actually affect the SERP. Most of the people prefer .com because .com is default on the user mind

.com extension is seo friendly extension .. And this is the main reason you will hardly hardly find any of your desired domain in this TLD :-s

For most of my domains Godaddy. and have three domains with Namecheap and two domains with domainsite.

its just more well known .

defaultly it comes first in mind while thinkng about domains.

.com is the most popular and people are used to it...i also believe that search engines have more respect to .com
