I don't currently, but I have in the past. When I was in high school/college and constantly writing papers, it was great to not have to have a copy of Microsoft Office.

Now, I have a copy of Microsoft Office but I rarely use it. Like others, I use Live Writer for my blogging purposes and so I don't really have a reason to open any other program.

I Used it when i used to run Ubuntu for a while. I rarely notice differences since they both do the same thing and i only used the word processors and never really dug deep into it

Using Open source software is always my first choice as there i can easily get the updates at regular interval... In open office i can find some gadgets which i can never get in Microsoft Office...

I personally use Libre Office which was a fork of Open Office after Oracle decided to stop OO being open source. Libre Office started to take off and so Oracle miraculously decided to change OO to use the Apache licence which means anyone can use any of the code from it but this means they are having to go through all of the OO code to make sure they own all of it and to remove/change the bits they don't.

We install OpenOffice based for all clients when we rebuild their systems unless they say otherwise or want Office.
